Ginza Galleries organize a tour of art galleries “GINZA ART NIGHT” that featured some themes every year in May. This time, as the first attempt to work on Tokyo Art & Live City Project, we held a mini-gallery-concert by flute, Shakuhachi (bamboo flute), and Ohayashi (flute and drums).

At Gallery SEIZAN, There was Ohayashi performance and visitors enjoyed so much. The Japanese-style painting exhibition held at the gallery located opposite end of Kabukiza Theater, and the Japanese traditional music Nagauta was played, which was so wonderful combination.
Three female performers, Mizuho Mochizuki, Kiyoho Tosha, Tasano Mochizuki, were beautiful in their kimono, and hearing the sound of the drums and the flute, people who walking in the street stopped and came in, so that got a chance to get interested in our project.

Many people who visit galleries for art purposes listen to music by chance, and feel art with their whole body. The power created by artists who are usually perform in different fields sharing the same space and the same time would touch lots of people’s hearts. It is important to continue to believe in such efforts.

Here is also the place where young artists stimulate each other. Coincidentally, the drummer, Tasano Mochizuki was a junior in the arts university of Shigemi Yasuhara who was an exhibition artist at this time. They were excited about questioning each other, which made audience really delighted.

Also in other galleries, flute solo Ai Takeyama, Shakuhachi performance Komei Takemura, selected music to each exhibition work, and indeed the collaboration of visual arts and performing arts was linked art to live performance, which seemed to give us opportunity to get closer to arts. It was the successful opening of “GINZA ART NIGHT”.
